Day 5: St. Paul's and Rupert Grint

After a relaxing morning of reading in the park just outside my flat, the whole Library Science group tubed over to St. Paul's Cathedral:

I was one of the first group that got to see the Library for the Cathedral; it was really an interesting thing to see! After climbing back down to the main floor of the Cathedral, I spent a good hour taking in the splendour around me. The art on the ceilings really is spectacular, in particular the brilliant mosaics. I spent a good amount of time looking at the different angels' wings in the scenes; they were all so colorful, many in color combinations I would not have thought of but that look amazing so high in the Cathedral.

The next item on Monday's itinerary was a program convocation and reception at nearby Somerset House. The chaplain of Kings College (the campus on which I'm staying) formally welcomed us all in a lovely chapel, and afterward we were treated to refreshments in a downstairs ballroom. It was quite a nice time mingling with other students of this program.

Not willing to end our night at 8, a group of us walked over to Leicester Square to see what happenings were going on there. We decided to see a movie, Wild Target starring Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt, Rupert Grint, Martin Freeman, and Rupert Everett (all amazing!). Everyone in the States should anxiously anticipate when this movie will be released in the US in October; it was so funny! Everyone in our theatre was cracking up nearly the entire time, and all of the actors were such fun to watch on screen. Put it on your must-see list!

We tubed home after that; we didn't want to be staying out too late on a "school night"!
