Day 1: Getting to London

Today's the day! All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go... Later today I'm heading to the airport for my evening trans-Atlantic flight. And tomorrow? I'll wake up in London, England.

Happiness.

This blog is an account of my month-long trip to the UK for library school. During my stay, I'll be touring and learning about libraries in London, Oxford, Stratford, and Edinburgh. Translation: be prepared to hear lots about libraries (possibly more than you wanted to know in the first place; you can always skim those sections).

I've also planned a quaint little mini-break holiday that just so happens to coincide with my 24th birthday; I'll be spending those days in Bath, Cardiff, and at the seaside. Fingers crossed I'll get to eat at Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant. Details on that meal to follow. Oh, who are we kidding; I'll probably talk about the yummy things I get to eat nearly as much as I do libraries. You'll get to read about all of my adventures.

I'm anxiously awaiting the first official adventure of Miss Librarian Abroad, and I hope you are, too! For now, I'm armed with my suitcase, backpack, flight confirmation, and both Jane Austen novels set in Bath.

What more could this librarian need?
